Kohli, according to Sharma, has always been “kind enough” in listening to him when making key decisions during games.

Australian will play their inaugural Test following the ball tampering scandal in Cape Town with Tim Paine taking charge.
Unfortunately for Australia they will be without banned players Steven Smith, David Warner, Cameron Bancroft as well as Aaron Finch who will also act as T20I captain; therefore Aaron Finch could fill that void at the top of their order.
He made a strong case for inclusion by scoring 84 and 161 (including his maiden Test century) on Boxing Day 2021, earning himself promotion to the Test squad and vice-captaincy alongside Pat Cummins for two-match series against Sri Lanka in January.
Head is in line for his first ODI appearance in the UAE series after making waves in Queensland’s JLT Cup competition, while Chris Lynn had great results for Australia A in both Sheffield Shield and JLT Cup competitions, not to mention in Futures League competition. Both players will bolster a formidable Queensland side that looks set for victory!
Marcus Stoinis and Nathan Coulter-Nile have both been retained despite missing out on Pakistan tour, joining James Faulkner, Matt Starc, Andrew Tye in pace attack. Shaun Marsh and Travis Head were named to ODI squad following impressive displays in UAE while Chris Lynn earned a recall after performing well in JLT Cup for Queensland.
Matt Renshaw will return as second opener alongside Finch offering spin options which could push up order further up. Australia are expected to announce final squad announcement on 29 February.
Usman Khawaja
India, known for their world-renowned cricket team known as The Men in Blue, boasts one of the greatest squads worldwide. Since 1926, this national side has produced many incredible cricketers while winning major tournaments. Khawaja currently plays for Brisbane Heat in the Big Bash League and Queensland domestically, where he has proven a consistent performer over many years of T20 cricket, scoring numerous runs over time. Unfortunately, in 2017, however, he struggled to the point of being dropped from Australia national squad.
Mark Warner returned to cricket during Australia’s three-nil win of England during 2024 tour, playing an integral role in helping Australia defeat them 3-1. His steady innings of 41 at Sydney Cricket Ground was key in their chase of 162 runs in fourth innings against India.
Khawaja’s career has been marked by controversy, but one area where his commitment to equality stands out: his stand against racism. In 2019, he led all runners with 345 runs from seven matches in Ryobi One-Day Cup 2019.
Khawaja was included in a 26-player squad training ahead of a potential England tour before making his way into two ODIs against New Zealand and two Test matches against Sri Lanka and South Africa; unfortunately his series ended due to a hamstring injury with an average score of 17.50 and was later terminated after being dropped post injury.
Marcus Stoinis
Stoinis is a right-handed batsman and medium pace bowler who made his debut in 2015. Since then he has featured for Perth Scorchers, Melbourne Stars, Australia A and the Delhi Capitals with scores such as 147* for Perth Scorchers in BBL|9 which stood as tournament record until it was broken by teammate Glenn Maxwell later that season in BBL|11.
He made 57 ODI appearances and 51 T20I appearances for Australia before breaking that mark again himself later on during BBL|11 by teammate Glenn Maxwell in BBL|11 when scoring this tournament record until then teammate Glenn Maxwell broke it in BBL|11.

Nathan Coulter-Nile
Nathan Coulter-Nile is an in-demand fast bowler on both domestic and international stages. He played an integral part of Australia’s T20 World Cup attack and can adjust his pace according to pitch conditions, as well as being an effective batsman at lower orders.
While his IPL career may have had its ups and downs, when at his best, Coulter-Nile ranks amongst one of the greatest fast bowlers ever seen in the game.
He offers much to any team and is an effective bowler capable of winning games with his skillful bowling. His pace and bounce can cause problems for any batsman while his great arm action makes for smooth running between wickets and stamina allows him to bowl long spells with ease.
Coulter-Nile first made his ODI and Test debuts in February 2013 and September, respectively. While not chosen for either tournament in 2015 – World Cup or Champions Trophy in England – an outstanding performance at an A-team tri-series in South Africa secured him an ODI place by late 2014 and has become a regular member of Australia squad ever since.
