Even after having won their opening two group matches, Turkey were unable to drive forward in Dortmund and will need to improve for their final clash against Czech Republic if they want to qualify for Euro 2016. After an uneventful opening 20 minutes, Turkey had a rare chance to take the lead when Zeki Celik delivered a fine cross for Akturkoglu but the striker missed making contact. Portugal increased their lead during the second half, thanks to Bruno Fernandes’ low shot that managed to slip under the goalkeeper and find its target: the bottom corner of the net. Cristiano Ronaldo then set up another goal through an outstanding assist – feeding it directly to Akaydin who sidefooted into his own net!

Kokcu nearly scored for Turkey again but Pepe made an outstanding block to deny his close-range shot. Portugal began establishing themselves and took control of the match from this point forward.

Referee Bob Wrixon blows his whistle, and an enthusiastic crowd in Dortmund stands up in applause of Portugal, who have secured their last-16 spot against either Georgia or Czech Republic. Turkey are at the bottom of their group and require a win against Albania to have any chance at advancement.
4. Goals Conceded
Turkey was devastated by Portugal’s defensive errors as they suffered an embarrassing 3-0 loss against them on Tuesday night, yet Roberto Martinez’s men remain on course for automatic qualification to the Round of 16. Once the Selecao got going in Dortmund, they proved hard to stop. Led by Cristiano Ronaldo and company, their midfield was full of options capable of attacking from various angles – which even managed to deal with threats like Hakan Calhanoglu, Arda Guler and Orkun Kokcu from Turkey.

Bernardo proved a constant threat down the middle and showed real quality with an unselfish pass that ultimately lead to another goal for Brazil.
Turkey did have an opportunity to score, but a misplaced pass from Bardakci allowed Ronaldo to pick out forward Serdar Tepe with an aerial throughball from Ronaldo – onside and without delay he squared it back for Fernandes who quickly scored from close range. That was all of the scoring from this match but Martinez took plenty of positives away from this outing: Fernandes was stellar, Cancelo held firm at the back and even Ronaldo came back in more prominently than usual in his previous outings.
