As South Africa resumed international cricket, its Proteas soon built upon their early successes to become one of the premier Test cricket nations. Winning three ICC Cricket World Cups between 1999 and 2023 (winning it three times! ), three semi-final appearances (one being heartbreakingly defeated by New Zealand in a rain-affected semi final; most recently being led by Brendon McCullum’s amazing batting performance), they remain formidable force within Test cricket today.
