Possession

Manchester United holds an advantage in this head-to-head competition with one win and one draw over Scottish champions Murrayfield Stadium, scheduled to kick-off at 4pm BST. Rangers TV and MUTV will broadcast it nationwide; after Manchester United were defeated by Rosenborg last week Erik ten Hag has made several adjustments in his team lineup ahead of their friendly against them.

Red Devils had the upper hand early and Amad Diallo missed an excellent chance from Diogo Dalot’s cross. United then took the lead through Danny Welbeck who easily converted Kaoru Mitoma’s pass for an easy tap-in goal from Kaoru Mitoma’s pass from Kaoru Mitoma’s pass from Mitoma’s pass for Kaoru Mitoma to take an early advantage from Kaoru Mitoma after Kaoru Mitoma made a simple tap-in from Mitoma’s pass from Mitoma before equalising shortly afterwards when De Ligt headed Bruno Fernandes cross after corner whereas Rashford made his first pre-season appearance with an accurate shot that beat Ramsdale!

Both teams made multiple changes during the halftime interval, and it took both to adjust back to playing their respective roles. But it was the hosts who seemed most likely to take control. Lee Wallace fired an early attempt over the bar for Rangers before Will Fish blocked a low shot from Moses Oyedele before Ryan Jack curled away a long-range effort a moment later that went wide of its mark.

As the game wore on, the contest became more of a battle of wills. United’s attacking play was limited with just three shots on target from their limited attack; they also found themselves forced into deep defensive positioning while having less touches in opposition box than rivals.

Rangers find themselves further back than when this stage of the season began and will hope to avoid another defeat within five matches. They must up the tempo against an uncertain United side who may lack match fit players; United also have an active summer schedule ahead with trips to Arsenal scheduled.

Goals

At Murrayfield Stadium, it has been raining non-stop and both teams have struggled to make an impressionful statement. Yet despite such unfavorable conditions, there have been moments to enjoy so far.

Man United opened up their lead with Amad Diallo’s strike. Amad has been an absolute force on United’s right flank and causes headaches for Rangers’ defence with his running. His work down this right channel led to a corner which Mount’s delivery found its way back into Amad at the back post for him to bundle home from close range.

Amad had an opportunity to double Rangers’ lead, but his effort went just wide. Scott Wright ran through for Rangers but his shot went well wide of its target.

After half-time, Rangers put on an improved display from their visitors. Andre Onana needed to be alert in saving Jefte’s header before Leny Yoro lost concentration and gave away possession. Rangers then broke down the left flank before Scott Wright went close with an effort that just missed hitting bottom corner.

Joe Hugill scored another stunning goal after Maxi Oyedele put him through, firing an emphatic shot past Jack Butland for another thrilling finish at Murrayfield that will send Rangers fans wild!

But the game is nearly over and Rangers must settle for a point to keep up their challenge at the highest level of Scottish football. Philippe Clement’s side begin their league campaign against Hearts on August 3, live on Sky Sports; their Premiership campaign will also be shown live on MUTV and Hampden Park will host Hibernian on October 27 as an important fixture – both big fixtures for a team which finished fourth last season and one which the new-look Rangers are already showing signs of being formidable forces this summer with an impressive squad assembled and this summer just starting their ascent up the Scottish ladder!

Shots on target

Manchester United registered their second consecutive pre-season win with an easy triumph against Rangers at Murrayfield. Following their disappointing loss against Rosenborg, United returned with a strong performance featuring many first-team players; Erik ten Hag was relieved that his side’s disappointing start was finally put right and this win served as an opportunity for some fringe players such as Jadon Sancho and Luke Shaw, both scoring.

Red Devils started off strongly, enjoying plenty of possession early on and creating multiple chances to open the scoring for Mason Mount and Jadon Sancho in the first half. Goalkeeper Jack Butland stood tall, saving well from Scott Wright and also saving an ambitious long-range effort from Leny Yoro’s debut as a defensive midfielder.

Red Devils quickly extended their lead in the second half after capitalising on Rangers’ poor final third performance. Yoro won a free kick for the hosts after Casemiro fouled Cyriel Dessers; Rashford then set up by Yoro followed up his throw-in by placing it into the far corner of goal.

Amad Amad then made an immediate impactful entrance onto the right wing, creating havoc down that flank and unselfishly feeding Sancho who shot over the crossbar from inside the box. Amad was then again involved as Ryan Giggs drove into penalty area before providing low cross for Juan Matondo to convert.

Rangers had won two out of their last three matches, yet still managed to be relegated from the Scottish Premiership. Rangers finished eighth overall this season – four points behind Celtic, who went on to become Scotland champions. Rangers played 38 matches this year and scored 13 goals while conceding 11.

Goalkeepers

Rangers and Manchester United will meet at Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh, Scotland at 4pm BST on July 20th for their clash. Fans can watch it live by subscribing to either channel (MUTV and Rangers TV), or alternatively beIN Sports offers coverage as well.

Erik ten Hag gave new signing Leny Yoro his Manchester United debut just 48 hours after completing the EUR62 million transfer from Lille. The 18-year-old defender made an impactful debut, although one sloppy pass led to a counterattack which nearly caught them out. Jadon Sancho also featured for United, just hours after Ten Hag and Sancho reached an agreement over their longstanding dispute.

However, their defense was insufficient to fend off visitors who created numerous chances for themselves and scored the opening goal of the match. Rangers managed to draw level with just minutes remaining but could not manage an unlikely victory.

Rangers’ strong attacking performance was evidenced in their 12 goals scored this season despite poor defensive efforts, the highest total among any Scottish team. Top scorers include James Tavernier and Mark Warburton who both have been prolific goal scorers throughout this campaign.

Rangers’ stellar league form has extended to their cup competition results as well. Currently tied for third in the Scottish Cup with five victories out of eleven matches played, they also boast an outstanding European competition record as they currently rank amongst one of the strongest teams in their division in Champions League – making them favourites to win Scottish Premiership this season.
