Group A
The Asia Cup 2025 kicks off on September 9 and will feature eight teams competing in a round-robin format. The top two teams from each group will advance to the Super Four stage, and ultimately to compete in a final on September 28. The initial stage of this tournament will take place across multiple venues in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
India and Pakistan, arch-rivals since 1987, are pitted together in Group A alongside hosts UAE and Oman. The marquee match between these two sides will take place on September 14, with further meetings possible if both make it to the final. India boasts proven performers like Suryakumar Yadav, Shubman Gill, Hardik Pandya, Abhishek Sharma, Jitesh Sharma and Axar Patel in its squad.
Pakistan are currently second best in their group and need only to beat Oman on Tuesday to advance to the Super 4s. Afghanistan and Bangladesh also stand a good chance, although their fate will depend on Sri Lanka’s final game in this group.
Though both teams were dismal at the ICC Champions Trophy, they will both look to improve upon that performance at the Asia Cup. Taskin Ahmed will be pivotal to Bangladesh’s side – his performance must be outstanding if they want to reach the semi-finals.
Sri Lanka are currently third best in Group 1, but defeat to Hong Kong China would spell doom for their chances of reaching the knockout stages. Only two teams from each group will advance to Super 4, so every victory, defeat, and change in net run rate will be closely scrutinised as the ACC Men’s Asia Cup T20 enters its final group stage.
Super 4s
The Asia Cup 2025 has moved into its Super 4 stage, with several matches already completed in this phase of competition. India and Pakistan have already qualified for the final while Sri Lanka and Bangladesh advanced from group play.
Each Super Fours team will play three matches against one another with points and net run rate used to break any ties; two will qualify for final while other two advance into playoffs. Here is a glimpse at this format as well as what lies ahead during this tournament.
Now that the group stage has ended, India and Pakistan will face each other in their inaugural Super Fours matchup. Each side will look to rebound after experiencing defeat in this tournament; Pakistan has had mixed success so far; winning against lower-ranked opponents but losing against reigning champion India.
India, on the other hand, has been in impressive form so far. They won all four group matches and will look to continue this impressive run when facing Pakistan on Tuesday.

Final
India defeated Pakistan in an exciting final at the Asia Cup 2025 to capture their ninth title and become the first team ever to defend it twice. Led by Suryakumar Yadav who scored an unbeaten 75 against Bangladesh in the semifinals, India secured their success against their arch-rivals with ease.
Pakistan were powerless against India’s powerful hitting in the final, with their top batsmen such as Faheem Ashraf and Asif Ali falling cheaply and giving India enough of a lead to chase down their target effortlessly. Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, and Tasskin Ahmed combined for seven wickets between them during this match!
The top two teams from each group will advance to the Super Fours stage of the tournament, where only the winner of that round will advance to the final, while runners-up are promoted into semi-finals. The Points Table Asia Cup 2025 will track each team’s points, wins, losses, and net run rate throughout the competition.
India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka are expected to vie for top honors in Group A while defending champions Bangladesh, Oman and debutants Indonesia are competing hard in Group B for supremacy.
