1st Over

After winning the toss, India elected to bat first and began on an impressive note with Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill both scoring quick runs early on.

Zimbabwe bowlers didn’t let them settle down easily though; Mukesh Kumar began by bowling an expensive over, which included both Wide Ball and No-Ball deliveries before finally getting his wicket when Wessly Madhevere cut him for four.

Muzarabani continues to strike fear into Indian batsmen with his pace and spin, as both left-handers struggle against him. Riyan managed to push one through for a single, but missed out on scoring six off his next delivery. Brandon Mavuta now comes on to bowl, giving India another couple of singles as they look for partnerships before Raza strikes again for another four!

2nd Over

Zimbabwe have won two singles during the Power Play and now trail by an extensive margin.

Bishnoi continues to bowl an efficient over and does not concede any runs. His efforts get an unexpected boost when Wessly Madhevere misses his regulation catch of Bishnoi off his bat.

Khaleel Ahmed takes the field and proves costly for Zimbabwe with some singles and Dot Balls conceded in quick succession, then picking up Campbell as he attempted to cut it and was caught by Myers at slip. India are now leading 2-1. Shubman Gill’s bat and Washington Sundar’s bowling have put immense pressure on Zimbabwe’s batting unit and are making scoring runs difficult for them.

3rd Over

Skipper Shubman Gill struck 66 and off-spinner Washington Sundar claimed three wickets as India secured an easy 2-0 lead against Zimbabwe in their five-match series. Their win solidified India’s dominance throughout, as their bowlers proved key to their success.

Brandon Mavuta starts the over, and both batsmen deal in singles. Rinku and Shivam get confused in a collision between innings which results in them each taking two.

Mavuta immediately castles Jaiswal with the first ball, but it is ruled a no ball. His second delivery struck home to Ngarava and Zimbabwe lost another wicket – while Akram took two runs from this over which ended with several Dot Balls.

4th Over

India are now within reach of an emphatic victory and need just one run to seal it quickly. They’ve established themselves well. All that remains now is an assured finish.

Tushar Deshpande was brought on as the bowler. He conceded a couple of singles before bowling a Wide Ball which enabled Zimbabwe to score one run off it. Wessly Madhevere then pulled one of Deshpande’s deliveries onto his stumps for another hit.

Shivam Dube continues his bowling, giving away nothing other than singles; he’s an effective wicket-taker. After another over, his over ends with confusion between the batsmen; Sanju misses his regulation catch, while Akram hits four! That makes his eleventh SIX of this innings! Akram was named man of the match; making 152/7 after 20 overs with unbeaten scores of 93 off 53 balls for his second ton in this series; Abhishek Sharma follows him closely behind.

5th Over

India bowlers ran through Zimbabwe batting with ease, with Ravi Bishnoi and Washington Sundar each taking one wicket each. Unfortunately for Zimbabwe’s batsmen they could not hold onto their early runs and soon went tumbling back downhill.

Abhishek Sharma sets his team off on a blistering start, scoring six consecutive runs from his opening over! Subsequently he adds another with an exceptional lofted shot to increase his total score.

6th Over

Clive Madande and Dion Mayers have formed an effective partnership for Zimbabwe but require 73 runs from 30 deliveries in order to draw level with India in this series’ fifth match. They’ll aim to boost their total score as much as possible to try and draw themselves level again with them in this fifth encounter.

Mukesh Kumar and Washington Sundar have played an essential part in restricting Zimbabwe’s scoring so far, each taking two wickets so far and it is crucial for these bowlers to keep up their impressive form.

Ngarava bowled the 19th over, opening with a Dot Ball that went for four. His tight line continued, before Shivam Dube hit him for six and ended the Power Play.

7th Over

Shubman Gill takes the ball for India. He starts off by giving away one run from his first four balls before conceding a couple more runs from dot balls.

Washington Sundar bowls again, and Madhevere attempts a reverse-sweep but misses, taking one single off the next ball.

Bishnoi continues his strong performance against Zimbabwe batters and produces two runs from his over. He castles Marumani but he stays. Myers hits his first SIX off him!

8th Over

Shubman Gill and Ruturaj Gaikwad’s swift partnership allowed India to recover quickly after an unproductive start in this series. Both players hit half-centuries, giving India a commanding lead.

Sikandar Raza returns to bowl and is met by Jaiswal who instantly hits one for six! Jaiswal’s indomitable form makes life hard for Zimbabwean bowlers.

Washington Sundar steps up to bowl. His over was tight, conceding only singles; but Madhevere hit him for four – leading batsmen to convert single-run overs into two-run ones and convert one-run overs into two. Washington Sundar conceded just single runs after his tight over. He conceded only singles but Madhevere hit for FOUR in no time as Madhevere struck with precision! Washington Sundar concedes another four as batsmen turned one-run overs into two-run overs! Washington Sundar bowled tightly, conceding singles only in this over. However, Madhevere hit out of nowhere as Madhevere hit him hard and scored FOUR on what seemed to be tight overs! Washington Sundar rolled over perfectly tight after bowling an efficient tight over allowing only singles before Madhevere hit Madhevere for FOUR! But even tightness wasn’t enough as Madhevere hit him hard and scored FOUR runs off him! & two more run overs turned one into two run overs instead!

9th Over

After Yashasvi Jaiswal’s impressive 93-run knock, it is up to the batsmen now to take the game away from Zimbabwe – but that won’t be easy, given they must score 152 runs in just 90 balls!

Zimbabwe lost three wickets during this phase, with Avesh Khan and Khaleel Ahmed each taking two. If Zimbabwe are to defeat India at Harare Sports Club they require quick runs in order to be victorious.

Sanju Samson and Riyan Parag shared in a productive partnership and Parag hit an instantaneous four off Tushar Deshpande’s over. Soon afterwards he lofted a Straight Drive that went for another six thanks to Shivam Dube’s diving slip catch! A Dot Ball soon followed!

10th Over

Zimbabwe lost this match through missed opportunities. A series win in Game One gave them initial momentum, but India’s bowling attack and effective strategy exposed Zimbabwe’s batting deficiencies and made for a difficult defeat.

Sanju and Riyan come out ahead after fielders have dropped a ball and become negligent, taking two hits between them before the over ends.

Leg-Spinner Brandon Mavuta then takes over, bowling two Dot Balls before sending Sanju’s play and miss for another SIX!

Tushar Deshpande takes to the field and bowls a deceptively slow delivery that stuns Raza for his first international wicket. This marks his inaugural international scalp.
